Refund policy
RETURNS & REFUNDS
If you find a fault with a product that you have purchased please contact me at julie@dyedbyhandyarns.com within 14 business days of receipt of the item. Together we will work through the necessary steps of returning the item/s and arranging a refund.
You will be responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is deemed faulty so please retain you proof of postage receipt. In the unlikely event of the returned parcel going missing in transit you will be responsible for pursuing the postal provider for compensation as the parcel is legally yours until a refund is issued.
Items must be returned in their original condition with original labels and packaging, and be free from any odour, animal hair or other foreign material. Items not meeting these conditions will be returned and no refund will be issued.
If the item is found to be faulty a refund for the purchase price plus return postage will be issued via the original payment method within 14 business days.
Items returned from outside Australia must have "Returned Merchandise" and "Returning to Country of Origin" clearly marked on the Customs Label to avoid attracting any import duties or taxes. If you fail to follow these instructions and I receive a customs fee notification it will be ignored and the items automatically returned to you.
Patterns: Due to Intellectual Property and ease of photocopying and/or downing digitals copies of patterns, all patterns sold are final. Patterns sold cannot be returned and will not be refunded.
Gift Cards: As a digital product, all Gift Card sales are final and cannot be refunded.
NOT MY FAULT
Change of mind: please note that as a small business/solopreneur I cannot provide a refund if you change your mind after purchase. If you have any questions about a product please contact me before purchase to discuss your needs.
Hand Dyeing: Hand dyed yarn is a work of art - no two skeins are the same. I make every effort to ensure that dyeing is consistent from batch to batch however due to the nature of hand dyeing there will be some variation both within and between dye batches.
Mill Joins and Knots: Mill joins and knots are a fact of life - otherwise there would be a lot of wasted yarn. Most mill joins are actually splices and are not very obvious in the finished yarn. When a yarn is a single ply knots are used as there are no plies for splicing. I consider three joins/knots per 100g+ skein and two joins/knots per 20g skein acceptable.
Occasionally we will sell skeins with multiple joins/knots or other "faults" at a discounted price. This will be noted in the product description and will not be considered a fault.
Clearance Items: These items are sold as is and will not be able for exchange or refund. Any details related to the discount/clearance will be noted in the product description e.g. faulty skein; discontinued yarn base.
Uneven Texture: Some yarn bases can have some uneven thickness or texture from the mills, particularly single ply yarn. This is part of the nature of the yarn and not considered a fault.
Tangled Skeins: We highly recommend that you wind skeins into balls before use in order to prevent tangling. Tangles are not considered a fault.
Photography: Whilst I take great care to photograph and present the true colour of the yarn, please note that differences in screens and difficulties with photography may affect how the yarn displays on your screen. A written description of each colourway is offered to assist with your colour selection. If in doubt about the appearance please contact me with your questions.
